Building on the vintage tones and classic narrative, Taylor released their second album in June this year.

Alternately described as “seductive”, “moody” and “charmingly hopeful”, Gold Coast indie band Taylor will close out the Live at Bond Sunday sessions for 2013 next Sunday.

Merging the talents of singer/songwriter David Taylor with Geoff Green from Brisbane’s ARIA award-winning band George, Crick Boue on bass and multi-instrumentalist Scott French, Taylor has developed a distinctive sound and style that is sophisticated in its harmonies and uniquely theatrical in performance. Their debut album Warmer, released in July 2010, drew on David’s years as an international travelling troubadour. Alluring yet disarmingly haunting songs were captured in places as far afield as a farmhouse in southern England and the muddy tracks of Vietnam, and were finally recorded in a water tank hidden in the hills of northern NSW.

Building on the vintage tones and classic narrative, Taylor released their second album in June this year. “To Bed With You took a different approach, straying away from the organic nature of Warmer. The result is an intimate encounter that more encapsulates a singular time. There is a real sense of loss and longing mixed with moments of humour and joy but, overall, the tone is deliciously dark.” Taylor’s performance next Sunday will give the audience an opportunity to be drawn into the raw acoustic vibe of David’s new To Bed With You compositions, as well as revisiting Warmer favourites.

Feeling even more at home on the ADCO Amphitheatre stage will be Taylor’s support act, Deena Lynch, who is currently studying business and marketing at Bond. Deena released her first album, Lone Wolf, last year and was nominated as Female Artist of the Month by Star Central magazine in August 2012. The album was hailed by Brisbane’s Traxx Radio as Australian album of the year and Deena’s first single Wanderlust hit #11 on the 2012 Top 50.

Born in Japan to a Taiwanese mother and an Irish father, Deena grew up in Brisbane where she developed her unique sound and honed a skill for blending meaningful lyrics with simple melodies. She has earned a strong following, performing live across Queensland, NSW and Victoria as well as internationally in the US, Japan, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Taiwan. She has also played at the Caloundra Music Festival, Bondstock, Filo Fiesta, Scorcherfest and Music on the Glade.

We’d love to see a big crowd for our final Live at Bond concert for the year.
